A delegation from our school, ElGalil Secondary School, took part in The Israel Middle East Model United Nations’ three-day conference. The TIMEMUN conference, which was held from February 19th till 21st at the Walworth Barbour American International School in Even Yehuda, included schools from all over the country

 

The 500 multi-national student participants spoke English all throughout the conference and actively participated in the different model committees of the UN. Eight of our students, who were from the tenth and eleventh grades, represented Canada in eight different committees. They prepared policy statements, did some presentations and voted on clauses and resolutions

 

The student delegates were: Abed Darawshi, Laila Shtewi, Liana Loubani, Moatassem Abu Ahmad, Moataz Istaiti, Sally Odeh, Yara Sbihat, and Yara Zoubi

 

Two other students took part in the Conflict Resolution Program. They were: Aya Heib and Hassan Bader
